Lent
I'm not a religious man. However, for Lent this year I decided to give up something I enjoy. I have no idea what it's meant to represent, though I suppose it probably has something to do with sacrifice. Being the open-minded guy that I am, I have decided to give up some of my daily pleasures for Lent, in an attempt to better understand the phenomenon.
Among the things I am giving up are drinking coffee & tea, reading on the train, blog entries, riding my bikes, kayaking when the weather gets warmer, eating cheese & ice cream, fires in the back yard, and drinking beer. I know it's a tough road. But in order to fully appreciate what some people go through in an empty effort to find salvation, I am willing to try.
I will not, however, give up lying for Lent.
